About the Healthy Start scheme

What is Healthy Start?

Healthy Start provides eligible pregnant women and children aged 1-4 years old with weekly vouchers to buy healthy food and milk and claim free vitamins. The scheme aims to help low-income families to access more nutritious foods to support a healthy diet during pregnancy and early years development.

How does it work?

If you’re eligible, you will receive a Healthy Start chip-and-pin card and money will be added to it automatically every 4 weeks. You can use the card in some UK shops and now online with Tamar Valley Food Hubs and some other shops on the Open Food Network.
